The Kashubian Capital Centennial Celebration (KCC2020) is a year-long series of special events, workshops, cultural exchanges, and lectures to engage the region in a deeper understanding of the Polish Kashubian immigrants that played an integral role in the birth and success of Winona.
2020 is the important centennial celebration of the Stake War of 1920 and the creation of modern Poland. Bytow asked Winona to help mark this historic milestone with expanded programming so that our significant Polish community and those of the entire region from Chicago to Milwaukee will have a unique opportunity to share in this historic milestone. The KCC2020 will feature lectures, musical and choral concerts, classical and folk-dance performances, film and theater productions, culinary demos and contests, and even a Pomeranian pet parade: The March of the Pomeranians. For more information, visit KCC2020.org.
You can also celebrate Winona’s Polish history at the Polish Cultural Institute and Museum all year long.
