
Free Wednesday Concerts June – August
Each summer Red Wing Arts Association hosts a free Wednesday evening concert in Central Park Bandshell. The public is invited to bring their lawn chair, blankets, umbrellas and snacks to enjoy a variety of music. The concerts begin at 7 pm.
Rain/Storm Change of Venue
It doesn’t happen often, but we have experienced a rain shower or storm on a Wednesday evening.
In that situation, please come to First Lutheran Church at 615 Fifth St. West, Red Wing to enjoy the concert inside.
Central Park is located in the heart of Red Wing. Located conveniently downtown, the park sits between East and West Avenues and spans from West Fourth to West Fifth Streets.
This site was the original location of Hamline University which stood at the southern end of the present Central Park. Hamline opened in 1856 and relocated to St. Paul in 1869. The City of Red Wing purchased the Hamline block in 1871 to establish a park there. In the early years the park was heavily wooded with a small wooden bandstand located in the center of the park. Come down to Central Park in Red Wing, MN for our annual community picnic from 5 p.m. until the food is gone and enjoy some delicious corn on the cob, brats and hot dogs and a cold pop/water. The Free concert in the band shell will begin at 7 p.m. featuring Patchouli.
Grab a cold drink, tasty food and a chair right on the Mississippi River and enjoy live music all weekend.
